About This Role

As an Apprentice with Carrier, you will impact our customers by ensuring their comfort while learning about Commercial HVAC. You will work on installations, repairs, and maintenance projects, collaborating with a team and showcasing your skills. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about their trade and eager to advance their skills.

Carrier values our partnerships with Union workers, offering paid travel time, and maintains an on-call schedule for better work-life balance, with rotations every 7-8 weeks in most locations.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3+ years of practical HVAC experience
• Ability to enter or be enrolled in the Union Apprentice Program
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, climb ladders, work on rooftops
• Ability to stand, crawl, sit, squat for extended periods
• Valid driver’s license and insurability
• Enrolled or ability to join the union apprentice program

Essential Tasks

• Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair HVAC systems
• Install and replace equipment and controls
• Maintain system pressure, inspect refrigeration equipment, and maintain water systems
• Adjust electrical and electronic controls, assemble ductwork
• Assist in designing new HVAC installations
• Maintain safety and compliance records
• Identify risks and collaborate to ensure safety

Knowledge of

• HVAC maintenance, safety practices, controls, and safety data sheets
• Electrical circuits, sheet metal, plumbing, carpentry
• Building automation controls
