Job summary

Planet Glass is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator to prepare accurate estimates and bids for glazing projects. Experience in glass estimating is preferred but not required; candidates from commercial construction trades with blueprint reading, takeoff, and bidding experience are encouraged to apply.

You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, solicit vendor pricing, and coordinate with project managers to ensure on-time bids and smooth project turnover.

Qualifications

• 3+ years commercial construction estimating experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Excellent organization and communication.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specifications, and addenda.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Solicit vendor pricing.
• Prepare proposals and submit bids on time.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and risks.
• Coordinate with project managers and purchasing.
• Price change orders.
• Maintain estimating files and bid documentation.
• Build relationships with general contractors.
• Support project turnover after award.
