Compaan Door & Operator Company is seeking an experienced Commercial Garage Door Technician to join the team. You will install, repair, and maintain commercial garage doors and operators for various businesses across West Michigan.

The position requires a valid driver’s license, 2+ years of experience, and the ability to lift 75+ lbs. Benefits include a company-provided truck, medical insurance, 401K, and PTO.

Position Overview:

Compaan Door & Operator Co is seeking an experienced Commercial Garage Door Technician to join our growing team. You'll install, repair, and maintain commercial doors and operators for businesses and industrial facilities across West Michigan, keeping our customers' doors safe, secure, and running.

Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain commercial sectional doors, rolling steel doors, and grilles
• Install, wire, program, and troubleshoot commercial operators, including 3-phase and single-phase units, safety edges, and photo eyes
• Diagnose and replace torsion springs, cables, drums, shafts, tracks, rollers, panels, and weather seals
• Perform preventive maintenance visits and document door condition, safety issues, and recommended repairs
• Respond to urgent and 24/7 emergency calls on a rotating on-call schedule
• Read job specs and manufacturer instructions, and field-measure openings accurately for quotes and installs
• Work safely on ladders ranging from 8 to 24 feet and operate scissor lifts and aerial work platforms up to 40 feet
• Maintain a professional appearance, provide excellent customer service, and communicate effectively with customers and team members
• Meet job standards: on-time arrivals, notes, photos, and same-day closeout
• Keep company vehicles, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and properly maintained
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening
• 2+ years of commercial garage door experience covering installs, repair, and maintenance
• Comfortable with spring calculations and high-tension torsion and rolling-door spring work
• Able to lift 75+ lbs. and work at heights on ladders and aerial lifts
• Comfortable working outdoors in all Michigan weather

Schedule:

• Standard Monday to Friday availability from 7 AM to 6 PM
• Ability to work weekends as needed
• Some emergency on-call after hours as needed
