Job summary

Sergenian's Floor Coverings in Madison, WI is seeking enthusiastic Union Flooring Installers for our Commercial Installation team. You will install carpet tile, broadloom carpet, sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl plank, VCT, stair treads, and more; prior flooring or commercial construction experience is preferred, but training is available.

We offer the union Apprentice program and a full-time in-person role with a Monday–Friday schedule, occasional evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED certificate
Floor covering experience preferred
Physical stamina and the ability to lift upwards of 50 pounds
Reliable transportation
Keen attention to detail
Qualified individuals must be able to pass a post offer drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

Assess work sites to determine possible issues and make recommendations accordingly
Prepare surfaces for installation by removing old hardware like screws and bolts
Use hand and power tools to install flooring materials according to client specifications
Work alongside other installers while emphasizing safety and efficient use of time and materials
Inspect finished work to ensure customer satisfaction and the highest possible standards of work

Experience is always a plus, but we will give opportunities to the right candidates to go through the union Apprentice program. You will install a variety of flooring materials such as, carpet tile, broadloom carpet, sheet vinyl, luxury vinyl plank, VCT, stair treads, and more. Candidates with experience in flooring installation, and/or commercial construction is preferred.

Schedule

Schedules very, but most of the time it is Monday through Friday 6am - 2pm. Applicants will need to have the ability to work some nights and weekends when needed.
