Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Commercial Finance Manager role will provide financial analysis, insights, and decision support that enable profitable growth across customers, channels, and products. The Manager will leverage strong analytical skills and business acumen to deliver actionable insights, ensure financial rigor in commercial decisions, and support execution of our growth strategy.

This role will sit in our new Chicago office and will be onsite Monday - Thursday.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the key financial partner to the Chief Customer Officer (CCO), Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), and broader commercial leadership team.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing leaders to support pricing decisions, trade investment, promotions, and innovation launches.
• Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights to influence commercial strategy and execution.
• Deliver detailed profitability analysis by customer, channel, brand, and SKU.
• Provide financial analysis to support critical decisions including pricing, pack size, new products, customer programs, and new channel development.
• Evaluate marketing and trade spend effectiveness, ensuring alignment with ROI and company objectives.
• Develop and refine financial tools and reporting that highlight key performance drivers and risks/opportunities.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing to build annual budgets and monthly forecasts for commercial revenue, trade spend, and marketing investment.
• Provide ongoing risk and opportunity analysis to ensure forecast accuracy and identify levers to deliver results.
• Support cross-functional processes such as S&OP by ensuring financial assumptions are aligned across demand, supply, and finance.
• Contribute financial analysis and insights to innovation and stage-gate processes.
• Support post-launch performance tracking for new products and customers.
• Continuously improve reporting, analysis, and planning processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus.
• 6–10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3+ years in commercial finance or FP&A in a CPG, food, or beverage company.
• Strong financial modeling and Excel skills; experience with BI/reporting tools preferred.
• Proven ability to partner with commercial functions and provide insights that drive profitable growth.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to explain “the story behind the numbers” to non-finance stakeholders.
