Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems in Crane, Indiana seeks a commercial/industrial Electronic Security Technician to support critical federal facilities. Responsibilities include maintenance, installation, testing, and programming of integrated security systems (C‑Cure, Bosch).

Travel is not required; on-site work at Crane location. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with low-voltage security systems, and the ability to read blueprints and diagrams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting or repairing commercial/industrial ESS (low voltage access controls, intrusion, CCTV).
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs, manuals.
• Effective written and verbal communication; teamwork.
• Basic computer skills; read software/system programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, service and commissioning of ESS (access controls, intrusion, CCTV) using SoftwareHouse C-Cure 9000 and Bosch.
• Install cabling and security devices per installation plan and NEC guidelines.
• Assist with system programming and setup; test for proper operation after installation or repair.
• Coordinate with police/fire and manage emergency notification records.
• Provide End-User training and assist with as-builts documentation.
• Adhere to safety standards; ensure proper cleanup after installations.

Job description

We are seeking a commercial or industrial Electronic Security Technician to join our federal team in Crane, IN.

Location: Crane, IN

Benefits

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, maintenance and service, and commissioning of integrated / electronic Security Systems (ESS) to include, but not limited to, access controls, intrusion detection, and camera systems, primarily working with SoftwareHouse C-cure 9000 and Bosch
• May install cabling, security devices and infrastructure at times in accordance with installation plan according to the national electric code, company and customer guidelines
• May assist with security system programming and setup
• Conducts testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs
• Conducts testing of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls
• May help prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions from Supervisor
• Conduct End-User training.
• Provide accurate information for as-builts documentation.
• Adheres to safety standards and works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
• Performs other duties as required

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting or repairing commercial or industrial integrated / electronic security systems for low voltage access controls, intrusion detection, CCTV and digital recording systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
• Basic computer skills
• Capable of using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment
• Works well unsupervised and also as part of a team environment
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DoE) security clearance required. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.). Active clearance preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency working with Softwarehouse C-cure 9000
• Proficiency working with commercial and/or industrial IP CCTV camera systems.
• Programming experience with Electronic Security or Fire systems

Preferred Education

• Softwarehouse C-Cure 9000 certified
• Lenel certification
• Electronics certification or training from a technical school or military
