Responsibilities

• Electrical Installations: Install and maintain commercial electrical systems in offices, retail spaces, schools, and other commercial facilities.

• Electrical Renovations & Upgrades: Perform renovations and upgrades to meet project requirements.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical blueprints and diagrams for accurate installations.
• Safety & Code Compliance: Follow OSHA requirements and NEC standards with lockout/tagout practices.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure installations meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Mentorship & Teamwork: Guide apprentices and collaborate with project managers and contractors.

As a Commercial Electrician at Hertzler Electric, you will play a key role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in commercial buildings. You will apply your experience and technical expertise to power distribution, lighting systems, electrical panels, and commercial wiring, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Installations: Install and maintain commercial electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, power distribution, electrical panels, conduit, receptacles, and equipment connections in offices, retail spaces, schools, and other commercial facilities.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in commercial buildings, including lighting circuits, power systems, and electrical equipment, to ensure reliable operation and minimize disruptions.
• Electrical Renovations & Upgrades: Perform electrical renovations, system upgrades, and new installations, adapting existing electrical systems to meet project requirements and building needs.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, lighting plans, and technical drawings to complete installations accurately and efficiently.
• Safety & Code Compliance: Follow all applicable safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, including proper lockout/tagout procedures and safe electrical work practices.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all installations, repairs, and upgrades meet industry standards, project specifications, and company quality expectations.
• Mentorship & Teamwork: Provide guidance and support to apprentices and other electricians while collaborating with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to complete projects safely and on schedule.

Requirements

3+ years commercial electric experience

Proficiency in electrical theory, practices, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Physical fitness, as the job may involve lifting, climbing, and working in various environments.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
