Responsibilities

• Install and maintain industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, panels, transformers, motor circuits, and control wiring.
• Diagnose and repair electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure reliable operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on electrical equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics for installations and troubleshooting.
• Follow safety procedures and NEC codes, including lockout/tagout.
• Ensure quality and compliance with project specifications.
• Mentor apprentices and collaborate with project managers and other trades.

Job description

As an Industrial Electrician at Hertzler Electric, you will play a key role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in industrial facilities. You will apply your experience and technical expertise to industrial power distribution, equipment connections, motor controls, and electrical systems, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Installations: Install and maintain industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, electrical panels, transformers, motor circuits, control wiring, and equipment power feeds.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in industrial equipment and systems, including motors, control circuits, and power distribution systems, to minimize downtime and maintain reliable operation.
• Preventive Maintenance: Perform inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on industrial electrical systems to identify potential problems and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings to complete installations and troubleshoot electrical systems accurately.
• Safety & Code Compliance: Follow all applicable safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, including proper lockout/tagout procedures and safe electrical work practices.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance meet industry standards, project specifications, and company quality expectations.
• Mentorship & Teamwork: Provide guidance and support to apprentices and other electricians while collaborating with project managers, contractors, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.

Requirements

3+ years industrial electric experience

Proficiency in electrical theory, practices, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Physical fitness, as the job may involve lifting, climbing, and working in various environments.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
