Job summary

Knight Electric, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Estimator to grow our commercial/retail estimating team. The role focuses on new construction and remodels, onsite in Justin, TX or Alpharetta, GA, with typical 8:00 AM–5:00 PM hours and 0–25% travel.

Key duties include takeoffs with Accubid Anywhere, vendor relations, bid analysis, and post-bid client engagement. Qualifications emphasize 2+ years of commercial estimating, Accubid proficiency, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating commercial electrical projects in retail/construction.
• Excellent communication with customers, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and owners.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
• Full working knowledge of Accubid software.
• Familiarity with national, state, and local codes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and comfort with spreadsheets and on-screen takeoff programs.
• Produce accurate, timely, and competitive estimates from bid packages.
• Strong time management and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Perform takeoffs using Accubid Anywhere.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and customers.
• Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and bid documents to identify what is needed to complete an estimate.
• Exhibit good time management skills and meet deadlines.
• Prepare detailed proposals and post-bid engagement with clients.
• Attend pre-bid meetings to review scope and understand work.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subs on cost estimates.
• Review BOMs and subcontractor scope letters for accuracy.
• Complete change order estimates for awarded projects.
• Lead and mentor Junior Estimators and collaborate with teams.
