Job summary

Midwest Drywall Co Inc in Wichita, KS is seeking a Commercial Drywall Estimator to prepare cost estimates for framing, drywall, ceilings and related scopes. You will craft bids from specs and drawings and work with general contractors and vendors to secure competitive pricing.

Strong communication and detailed record-keeping are essential. Requirements include 3+ years in construction estimating and knowledge of metal stud framing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in construction estimating.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of metal stud framing and drywall.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as The Edge, Onscreen Takeoff/QuickBid, Bluebeam, Planswift.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

JobDescription
The Estimator will be responsible forpreparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial constructionprojects focusing on framing and drywall, acoustical ceilings, acousticalspecialties, EIFS/Stucco & exterior claddings. This role requires a deepunderstanding of commercial construction drawings & specifications,material, labor as well as strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Utilizeextensive knowledge and experience to accurately estimate material, labor,and equipment costs for commercial metal stud, drywall, & ceilingscopes of work.
• Preparecomprehensive and competitive bids based on project specifications,drawings, and other relevant documents.
• Analyzeproject requirements and identify potential cost-saving opportunitieswithout compromising quality standards.
• Collaboratewith general contractors and vendors to obtain competitive pricing formaterials and services. Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms.
• Identify andevaluate potential risks and uncertainties associated with projects anddevelop strategies to mitigate them.
• Maintain detailed records of estimates,bids, contracts, and other relevant documents.

Requirements,Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of3-year experience in construction estimating.
• Bachelor’sdegree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field ispreferred, but not required.
• Knowledge ofmetal stud framing and drywall
• Ability towork collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to the overallsuccess of the projects.
• Proficiencyin estimating software such as The Edge, Onscreen Takeoff/QuickBid,Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar tools
• Strongknowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
• Must haveexcellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strongattention to detail and accuracy
• Must beself-motivated and proactive carrying out duties
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strongproblem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate project challengesand develop solutions.
