Job summary

IGPS LOGISTICS in Hanover Park, IL is hiring a Commercial Driver for daily pallet pickups and deliveries from a depot. You will start and end at the depot, communicating with operations about arrival times, loads, and issues, while ensuring BOL accuracy and proper documentation.

The role requires a Class A CDL, current medical card, ability to operate an automatic tandem tractor, and the physical capability to handle up to 10 lbs lifting with occasional heavier cargo as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate an automatic tandem tractor and pull 53-foot trailers.

Responsibilities

• Get daily work assignments from the operations team.
• Pickup and deliver pallets to customers daily (live or drop/hook).
• Start and finish from our depot.
• Communicate with operations at each customer (arrival, departure, load info, issues).
• Slide trailer tandems and chalk wheels at customer and depot.
• Visually inspect cargo after loading at a customer.
• Confirm Bill of Lading is correct (shipper, consignee, quantity, etc.).
• Submit paperwork to the depot (BOLs, fuel receipts, maintenance receipts).
• Enter all data into the ELD.
• Fuel and top off fluids as needed.
• Perform pre- and post-trip truck/trailer checks daily.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Must be able to lift to 10 lbs, push and pull up to 12 lbs, lift, stand and carry consistently, have proper hearing, vision and speech capabilities. Can wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Hearing protection, safety glasses, goggles, or shields).
