AAA Cooper Transportation, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL P&D Driver in California. The role involves pickup and delivery across intra- and inter-state routes, with loading, unloading, and freight handling as needed.

You will follow strict safety, compliance, and performance standards to ensure secure transportation of freight. Responsibilities include safe vehicle operation, inspections, DOT compliance, ELD documentation, cargo securement, and collaboration with dispatch.

Formación

• Valid Class A CDL license with endorsements as required (Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples).
• DOT medical certificate and valid DOT physical.
• Minimum 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years.
• Must read, write and speak English fluently.
• Complete onboarding: drug screen, background check, MVR, PSP.
• Minimum age 21.

Responsabilidades

• Operate commercial vehicles safely while following all regulations and hours of service.
• Meet DOT medical standards and maintain Medical Examiner's Certificate.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report defects.
• Record trip, dispatch, and ELD information using company IT systems.

Class A CDL P&D Truck Driver

Pay Range:$34 - $36.50/hr

Job Summary

Pickup and Delivery (P&D) Drivers operate commercial vehicles with various trailer combinations across intra-state and inter-state routes. This includes travel between company service centers and meet-and-turn points. Drivers may also be responsible for sorting, loading, unloading, and handling freight as needed. The position requires strict adherence to safety, compliance, and performance standards to ensure the efficient and secure transportation of freight.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles safely while adhering to all state and federal regulations, including traffic laws, hours of service, and hazmat transportation requirements.




• Meet DOT medical standards and maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate.




• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of company equipment and report any defects.




• Operate company-provided IT equipment in compliance with policy to record ELD, VIR, trip, and dispatch information.




• Ensure proper cargo securement to prevent damage during transport.




• Load, unload, and secure freight as required.




• Maintain communication with dispatch and adhere to trip scheduling requirements.




• Exhibit professional conduct and represent the company in a positive manner with customers and team members.




• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)




• Valid DOT physical




• Required endorsements: Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples




• Minimum 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience




• Driving record reflecting no more than two moving violations in the past three years




• Ability to read, write, and speak English




• Must complete company onboarding process, including drug screening, background check, MVR, and PSP review




• Successful completion of new-hire training, including assessments, driving test, trailer combination test, and forklift test




• Minimum 21 years of age

Physical Requirements

This position requires but is not limited to the following physical requirements: sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, material moving, lifting, and reaching.

In addition, this position requires but is not limited to the following cognitive requirements: Maintain situational awareness, read manifests, interpret navigation, and identify shipment labels accurately. Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Working Environment

This position operates in various environments, including indoor docks, enclosed vehicles, and outdoor areas. Work may occur in extreme temperatures, inclement weather, low-light conditions, and around moving equipment or other personnel engaged in freight handling.

Operating Schedule

Days: Monday through Sunday (varies by business needs)

Shifts: AM/PM \" schedules are determined by operational requirements and subject to change.
