Job summary

Sylvester's Dock and Door Service is seeking a Door Technician in Chesapeake, VA to service and repair commercial doors and related equipment. You will diagnose, install, and maintain high-speed and sectional doors, operators, and dock equipment at customer sites while upholding safety standards and communicating job status in real time.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of relevant experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two or more years of recent experience as a Door Technician preferred.
• Welding experience a plus.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving history.
• Ability to meet customer site access requirements, which may include a background check.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair commercial doors, high-speed doors, sectional doors, operators, dock levelers, and gate systems
• Install new equipment and components at customer sites
• Maintain accurate digital work orders and communicate job status in real time
• Uphold safety standards on every job site
• Represent Sylvester's professionally with every customer interaction
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed
