Wilks Tire & Battery Service, Inc. is seeking a Commercial Service Mechanic to work at our Wilks Truck Center location, providing light mechanical and tire service to the commercial trucking industry. You will perform routine maintenance and on-site repairs for trucks, RVs and trailers.

The role emphasizes safe diagnostics, timely communication with the Service Supervisor, and proper completion of service tickets. Candidates should have 1 year of commercial experience and own basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform light mechanical maintenance on commercial trucks and trailers including lube, oil changes, and filter service.
• Conduct alignments and front-end suspension work as needed.
• Service brakes and air systems and perform DOT Annual Inspections.
• Determine service requirements from drivers and communicate to supervisors/technicians.
• Submit completed service tickets to management and perform on-site repairs as required.
• Respond promptly to customer calls, diagnose issues, and maintain equipment cleanliness.
• Maintain professional appearance and a safe, organized shop area.

Commercial Service Mechanic

As a Commercial Mechanic you will work at our Wilks Truck Center location providing light mechanical service and tire service to the Commercial Trucking industry. You will perform the following service on commercial trucks, RV and trailers:

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Perform light mechanical maintenance on commercial trucks and trailers including:

• Lube, oil change, filter service

• Alignments

• Front End Suspension

• Brakes & Air System

• DOT Annual Inspections

• Determine service requirements from commercial truck drivers and communicate to Service Supervisor and/or Service Technicians

• Properly execute required service ticket to submit to management.

• Respond in a timely manner to customer service calls, diagnosing issues, and performing on-site repairs and/or replacements.

• Clean and maintain service equipment.

• Any other duties as assigned by management

• Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, including commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting.

• Report any safety issues immediately to management.

• Help keep shop clean and organized

• Maintaining a Professional Appearance

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum1 year of Commercial experienceincluding brake s, oil changes, front end work, a ll wheel position alignments.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Have your own tools

• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• DOT Inspector Certification.

• ASE Certificationin brakes and suspension.
