Purpose
Operate vehicles to safely transport equipment for the dealership. During delivery, this person may instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Transport equipment to/from customers and/or between dealer facilities; may also pick up new equipment from a supplier.
- Supports the sales department with equipment delivery as needed.
- Maintains records of pickup and deliveries as directed by TRULAND Equipment and obtains any necessary signatures and receipts.
- Maintains all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA, and company policy as requested by TRULAND.
- Accountable for all time and distance traveled in performing assigned duties.
- May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures as required.
- Maintain a regular inspection of the assigned equipment and immediately report anything on the equipment in need of repair.
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- 3+ years’ experience as semi‑trailer truck operator.
- Experience in hauling irregular and oversized loads.
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of proper load securement techniques.
- Valid CDL Class driver’s license required.
- Driving record that meets insurance company parameters.
- Ability to lift items weighing upwards to 75 lbs. repeatedly.
