Job summary

AWE is hiring a Commercial Data Analytics Manager in Reading. You will lead strategic and operational management of commercial data to support third party spend decisions and drive actionable insights, reporting to the Principal Commercial Performance, Insights & Reporting Manager.

The role covers data governance, lifecycle management, data cleansing and collaboration with IT, Finance and the Commercial team. Hybrid working with a 9‑day fortnight and generous benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience in data operations and/or commercial analytics.
  • Proven ability to manage large datasets and perform data transformations.
  • Proficient in SQL, Excel and visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical insights to business language.

Responsibilities

Job description

Commercial Data Analytics Manager

Package: £47,760 to £60k (depending on experience)

Location: Reading, with free onsite parking.

Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, with every other Friday as a non-working day. This role is eligible for hybrid working, meaning employees typically spend three days on site in a long week and two days on site in a short week. We support flexible working where possible, including part-time and varied working hours, so please let us know if you would like us to consider an alternative working arrangement when you apply.

The Commercial Data Analytics Manager leads the strategic and operational management of commercial data across AWE. This role is critical in ensuring accuracy, availability and actionable use of data to drive effective commercial decision-making within the Commercial team on all matters relating to third party spend incurred by AWE.

This role will report into the Principal Commercial Performance, Insights & Reporting Manager.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensures Commercial teams have access to timely, accurate and relevant data to meet performance and strategic objectives.
  • Accountable for master data management of all commercial data, ensuring accuracy, consistency and integrity across systems used by the Commercial function.
  • Accountable for managing the data lifecycle, ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
  • Accountable for data protocols, data cleansing and data maintenance to ensure usable data is made available to Commercial colleagues.
  • Accountable for liaison between Commercial, IT, Finance and other relevant teams in AWE to align data strategy with business requirements.
  • Accountable for the management of the Commercial Data Team.

Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we’d like you to have experience in some of the following:

  • Compliance withrelevantlegislation and regulations.
  • Must haveproven professional experience.
  • Experience of working in a Procurement / Commercial function
  • Experience in data operations and/or commercial analytics
  • Proven experience in managing large datasets, data transformation and business intelligence tools.
  • A natural analytical thinker.
  • Proficient in SQL, Excel and visualisation platforms (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical insights into business language.
  • Detail oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
