Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst Commercial Underwriter on the North America Strategy Risk team to underwrite and manage a portfolio of our largest and fastest-growing merchants. You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Treasury, and Finance to balance growth with prudent credit risk.

Based on your experience evaluating financial statements and business models, you will provide tailored risk recommendations and help refine tools and processes to meet portfolio objectives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience with knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, financial risk modeling, and cash flow forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and comfort evaluating financial statements and business models across industries.
• Ability to transform business and financial data into cohesive narratives that outline potential credit risks and mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of the largest and fastest-growing Stripe customers to support growth while minimizing credit risk.
• Provide tailored credit risk recommendations to balance Stripe exposure and customer growth.
• Develop deep understanding of risk across industries, geographies, and operating models to inform decisions.
• Deliver insights to support senior management decisions, including onboarding strategies and pricing analysis.
• Support refinement of tools and processes to improve portfolio metrics like credit loss targets or portfolio coverage.
