Job summary

Independent Bank in Grand Rapids is seeking a Commercial Credit intern for its 2027 internship program. You will assist Credit Analysts with financial spreads, borrowing bases, and loan underwriting in a full-time summer role at our Downtown Grand Rapids office.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of accounting and finance
• Leadership and communication skills
• Critical thinking and problem solving
• Eagerness to learn
• Experience with Microsoft Suites
• Must be currently enrolled in a relevant field of study

Responsibilities

• Review credit data to evaluate loan requests
• Monitor credit portfolio
• Assist with financial statement spreading, borrowing bases, and underwriting of loans
• Analyze sources of financial information to determine potential risk
• Perform other duties as assigned
