Job description

About Antithesis

We build a platform that finds the bugs other testing approaches never see. Antithesis runs your entire system inside a deterministic simulation, breaks it in every way we can think of, and hands you a root cause with a perfect reproduction - no flaky tests, no false positives, no "works on my machine."

AI-generated code has made this work more urgent than ever. Agents write code faster than any human can, but faster code isn’t better code if it’s buggy, stuck in review, or quietly failing in production. The verification bottleneck is real, and it’s growing. That is precisely the problem Antithesis exists to solve. We’ve spent years quietly rethinking how the world approaches software reliability, and we’re just getting started.

We're well-funded, deeply technical, and headquartered in Northern Virginia with satellite offices in London and San Francisco. Our team is in the office daily, which is how we take on hard problems together. If that sounds like fun to you, keep reading.

About the Role

Antithesis is looking for a transactional lawyer to serve as a key legal partner to the business as we grow. In this role, you will lead negotiation and counseling on customer and revenue-related transactions, advise on commercial risk, maintain contract templates and playbooks and help shape a pragmatic legal approach that supports the company’s goals.

This role is well suited for someone who enjoys supporting a sales team in a fast-paced environment where your efforts can have an immediate impact for your client. You should be comfortable handling complex commercial matters, partnering with senior stakeholders, and balancing speed, judgment, and rigor in a fast-moving environment.

What you'll do
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, partnership agreements and vendor contracts

  • Advise internal teams on contract structure, commercial terms, risk allocation, and negotiation strategy

  • Partner with sales, finance, product, security, and leadership on large transactions and customer-facing legal issues

  • Create and refine templates, playbooks, approval paths, and internal policies that improve consistency and speed

  • Support escalations on high-impact deals and help drive resolution on difficult contractual issues

  • Spot trends in negotiation friction and recommend improvements to process, positioning, and standard terms

  • Provide business-focused legal advice that enables thoughtful decision-making across the company

  • Conduct training for internal business partners

What you'll do
  • J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • 5 - 8 years of technology-focused contracting in law firm or in-house roles and at least 3+ years supporting sales teams

  • Significant experience handling commercial transactions, ideally with a mix of customer-facing SaaS agreements and with some vendor-side contracting

  • Strong sense of deal ownership and client-focused attitude in supporting a rapidly growing sales team

  • Experience negotiating complex agreements, including Master Service Agreements, Data Processing Agreements, marketing agreements and partnership agreements, with sophisticated counterparties.

  • Excellent judgment and an interest in building processes to enable the company to grow, while balancing risk and opportunity in a fast moving environment.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional partners

  • Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the broader business context.
