HITT Contracting's Santa Clara office seeks a Commercial Construction Project Manager to lead mission-critical and data center projects across the Bay Area. You will manage the project from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence while upholding HITT’s quality standards.

You will coordinate with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and vendors, oversee RFIs and submittals, monitor costs, and mentor junior staff, all while delivering excellent client

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degree preferred in CM/engineering/architecture/business.
• 5+ years of commercial construction experience with a GC.
• Experience managing mission-critical/data center projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead mission-critical and data center projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, schedules, and cost reports.
• Coordinate with clients, design teams, vendors, and subcontractors.

The Project Manager leads projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with HITT’s quality standards.This individual serves as a primary liaison among the client, design team, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project team. The Project Manager must understand the complex mechanical, electrical, controls, life-safety, and commissioning requirements associated with mission-critical construction while demonstrating the characteristics of a mid-level leader.ResponsibilitiesMaintain adherence to HITT’s safety and quality standardsManage mission-critical and data center projects from preconstruction through final closeoutDevelop, monitor, and manage project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and cost reportsLead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, milestones, and financial performance to clients and internal leadershipManage RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, pay applications, change orders, and project documentationCoordinate closely with the superintendent and site operations team throughout the projectOversee subcontractor performance, scope compliance, scheduling, and financial commitmentsReview drawings, specifications, and scopes of work for accuracy, constructability, and coordinationSupport procurement and installation of long-lead equipment and critical MEP systemsCoordinate with design teams, commissioning agents, utility providers, vendors, and trade partnersManage complex project logistics, phased construction, equipment turnover, and work within active environmentsIdentify project risks and develop solutions that protect the interests of HITT and the clientEnsure quality-control plans, testing requirements, and commissioning activities are completed and documentedLead project closeout, including punch-list completion, owner training, turnover documentation, and final acceptanceMentor and support Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other project team membersBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and industry partnersQualificationsHigh school diploma required; a four-year degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or business is strongly preferredAdditional relevant construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeFive or more years of commercial construction experience with a general contractorDirect experience managing mission-critical, data center, semiconductor, clean room, or similarly complex technical projects requiredStrong understanding of MEP systems, long-lead procurement, testing, commissioning, and turnover processesDemonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and subcontractorsAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scopes of workProficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, JD Edwards, or comparable construction-management systemsAbility to manage multiple priorities and communicate clearly with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and senior leadershipStrong organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skillsCommitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, integrity, and HITT’s core valuesAbility to work from the Santa Clara office and assigned project sites throughout the Bay AreaIn accordance with California’s Labor Code Section 432.3, the base salary range for this position is:$106,480.00 - $145,200.00Compensation in other cities and states may vary.
