Job summary

Sun State Builders, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout in Tempe, AZ.

You will ensure safety, quality, budget, and schedule objectives are met while building strong client relationships and coordinating with designers, subs, and owners. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of PM experience in commercial construction, proficient in MS Project and Bluebeam, and exceptional communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in commercial construction.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
• Experience with project management software: Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and MS Office.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial construction projects from award through completion.
• Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestones and completion dates are achieved.
• Oversee project budgets, cost forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Lead project planning, procurement, subcontractor coordination, and owner communication.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
• Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with superintendents, estimators, subcontractors, architects, and owners to ensure project success.
• Identify and proactively resolve project challenges and risks.
• Facilitate project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Preferred Experience

• Ground-up commercial construction.
• Industrial, warehouse, tilt-wall, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, or office projects.
• Design-build and negotiated project delivery methods.
• OSHA 30 certification.
