Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of site work, structural work, and interior/exterior finishes on commercial buildings.
• Communicate effectively and lead, giving clear direction and feedback to PMs, inspectors, and clients.
• Troubleshoot field issues, make timely decisions under time constraints, adapt to changes.
• Use email, spreadsheets, and construction management or scheduling software; maintain logs.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications preferred.
• Experience as foreman or lead in commercial construction in Metropolitan Fresno or similar markets.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites; outdoor conditions work.

Role Description

The Commercial Construction Foreman is a full-time, on-site role based in Metropolitan Fresno, responsible for overseeing daily field operations on commercial construction projects. This role coordinates and supervises crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards. The foreman organizes tasks, assigns workloads, and monitors progress, while maintaining clear communication with project managers, inspectors, and clients. Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting construction documents, planning materials and equipment needs, enforcing safety protocols, documenting jobsite activities, and assisting with problem-solving when project issues arise. The role also involves mentoring field personnel, helping optimize productivity, and supporting successful project delivery from site mobilization through closeout.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supervising commercial construction crews and coordinating subcontractors, with strong scheduling, task planning, and jobsite organization skills.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings, and in using basic construction documentation and reporting tools.
• Solid understanding of construction safety standards (e.g., OSHA), hazard identification, and enforcement of safety protocols on active jobsites.
• Hands-on knowledge of commercial building methods, materials, and trades, including site work, structural work, and interior/exterior finishes.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to give clear direction, provide feedback, and collaborate with project managers, inspectors, and clients.
• Ability to troubleshoot field issues, make sound decisions under time constraints, and adapt to changing project conditions.
• Basic proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and construction management or scheduling software; ability to maintain accurate daily logs and reports.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in construction management or related fields are preferred.
• Prior experience as a foreman or lead in commercial construction, particularly in the Metropolitan Fresno region or similar markets, is highly beneficial.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites; ability to work in varying outdoor conditions and perform the physical tasks associated with field supervision.
