Job summary

gpac is hiring a Commercial Estimator in Worthington, Ohio to prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects. You will work with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, architects, and clients to develop detailed bids aligned with budget, scope, and schedule.

The role requires 2+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction, the ability to read multiple drawing disciplines, and proficiency with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, or Sage Estimating.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial construction estimating and bidding.
• Ability to read architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings.
• Familiarity with estimating software and cost data sources.

Responsibilities

• Review plans, specs, and bid documents to prepare cost estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and material calculations.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and other costs.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids.
• Prepare competitive bids and proposals for commercial projects.
• Identify risks, exclusions, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain bid records and estimating documentation.
• Support value engineering and budget development.
• Track market pricing and material cost fluctuations.
• Assist with change-order pricing and cost analysis as needed.
