Apex Multifamily Builders in Austin, TX seeks a skilled Construction Estimator specializing in commercial projects to forecast costs, prepare budgets, and support bidding and project planning. You will gather proposals, analyze labor and material needs, maintain cost databases, coordinate with clients and engineers, and help drive on-schedule, within-budget delivery.

Minimum 5 years of estimator experience, strong math and software skills, and ability to travel to job sites as required are

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Construction Estimator.
• Extensive knowledge of Commercial construction processes.
• Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Advanced understanding of construction software for job costing, scheduling, estimating, and project management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to negotiate and communicate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with regulatory construction standards and health & safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Present prepared estimates by building up an itemized cost summary.

• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and engineers to gather detailed project information.
• Oversee and coordinate the pre-construction job duties such as design reviews and scheduling.
• Create and present reports detailing project estimates to upper management.
• Evaluate changes and review designs to ensure budget adherence.
• Develop strategies to meet project goals, like setting work hours and ordering supplies.
