Job description

Coastal Mechanical, one of the largest mechanical contractors in the Southeast, is currently seeking a Commercial Construction Mechanical/Plumbing Assistant Project Manager. Jobs primarily include hospitals, schools, universities, and government facilities.

Requirements

• Mechanical experience/knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, or Pipefitting/Welding is essential
• Tracking and submitting Equipment Rentals
• Updating record drawings: RFIs, CCDs, and ASIs; notifying Project Manager, Field Superintendent, & Subcontractors of changes
• Utilizing computer applications such as View Point, Blue Beam, Word, Excel, Outlook
• Managing electronic filing systems (OneDrive)
• Assisting the Project Manager with Change Order Requests and take-offs
• Maintaining tracking logs like Equipment Tracking Log
• Coordinating with the Director of Facilities, Project Manager, and Superintendent; attending meetings as required
• Assembling submittals, verifying compliance, processing to General Contractor, tracking approvals, and maintaining files
• Reviewing Work Order Proposals, materials, and quotes; attending turnover meetings and job walks
• Reviewing Contract Drawings & Specifications; generating RFIs for issues; tracking resolution
• Overseeing Material & Equipment releases; devising tracking logs for process management
• Assisting in issuing material requisitions and purchase orders
• Overseeing Project Closeout Requirements and warranties
• Coordinating with Start-up department for equipment start-up scheduling
• Completing OSHA 30hr training
• Updating weekly WO Spreadsheets with actual costs
• Setting up T&M work order projects and assisting with job setups
• Processing invoices for completed work orders

Essential Functions

• Ability to read, speak, comprehend, and write in English and Spanish
• Bending, stooping, lifting up to 10 lbs
• Ability to move through the building to interact with departments
• Dexterity for office equipment and computers
