Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a Commercial Closing Officer to own end-to-end closing of commercial loans. You will validate documentation, ensure alignment with credit approvals, and maintain internal controls as the first line of defense.

You will coordinate with bank counsel and internal partners, review compliance, and manage multiple closings with accuracy and timely funding, while upholding risk standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years in commercial loan closing or related fields.
• Ability to communicate closing requirements and elevate issues prior to funding.
• Experience managing multiple closings end-to-end.
• Strong focus on data quality and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Validate closing documentation and due diligence to align with credit terms and regulatory requirements.
• Review and interpret loan documents to reflect legal guidance and policy.
• Complete the Commercial Closing Checklist and ensure readiness for close.
• Coordinate with counsel and internal partners for funding, booking, and compliance.
• Identify gaps and mitigate regulatory and policy issues.
