Job summary

H&G Systems in Corpus Christi is seeking a Commercial Chiller Service Technician to diagnose, service, and repair centrifugal chillers and large HVAC systems at critical facilities across Texas. This full-time role offers $45-$55 per hour plus a take-home service vehicle, company-paid medical insurance, 401(k) with 6% match, and ample opportunities for training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience servicing centrifugal chillers and large commercial HVAC systems.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification.
• Current Texas TDLR License.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical manuals.
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain centrifugal chillers and large-tonnage HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and controls-related issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and system assessments.
• Complete equipment startups, commissioning, and warranty service.
• Service and support chilled water systems and associated components.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Complete digital service reports accurately and thoroughly.
• Communicate findings and recommendations professionally with customers.
• Maintain safety standards and company quality expectations on every job.

What You'll Do

As a Commercial Chiller Service Technician, you'll diagnose, maintain, and repair centrifugal chillers and large commercial HVAC systems at some of the region's most critical facilities.

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain centrifugal chillers and large-tonnage HVAC equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and controls-related issues

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience servicing centrifugal chillers and/or large commercial HVAC systems
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and control systems
• Experience with major chiller manufacturers, including:
  • York
  • Trane
  • Carrier
  • Daikin
  • Johnson Controls
  • Or similar equipment
• EPA 608 Universal Certification
• Current Texas TDLR License
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical manuals
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• Factory training from major chiller manufacturers
• Experience with VFDs, building automation systems, and controls integration
• Experience supporting hospitals, industrial facilities, data centers, or mission-critical environments
• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Strong customer service and communication abilities
