Responsibilities

• Evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims for damages.
• Maintain a pending diary of claims, through settlement and resolution.
• Provide support to GEICO insureds that have become defendants in lawsuits and guide them through the litigation process.
• Provide direction to defense counsel.
• Travel to attend trainings, trials and other litigation process events.
• Present files to the Senior Leadership.

Salary: Starting at $98,913-120,950, commensurate with experience and location

Summary

We're looking for a Commercial Casualty Senior Claims Examiner who is a highly-motivated professional to join the Commercial Claims Litigation Team. You will expand your technical and procedural knowledge as you handle claims involving complex coverage, high exposure, and litigation. You will be working in a fast-paced environment.

• Handle GEICO's commercial, short-haul and long-haul trucking claims involving unrepresented individuals, pre-suit files and litigation files
• Conduct investigations to determine coverage and liability for claims involving serious injury
• Evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims for damages
• Maintain a pending diary of claims, which you will work through settlement and resolution
• Provide support to GEICO insureds that have become defendants in lawsuits and guide them through the litigation process
• Provide direction to defense counsel
• Travel to attend trainings, trials and other litigation process events
• Present files to the Senior Leadership

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial litigation claims handling experience
• Ability to provide high-quality customer service
• Ability to actively listen to customers’ needs
• Ability to negotiate effectively
• Ability to multitask (listen and type; speak and navigate the system)
• Must meet corporate attendance standards
• Must attain and maintain the required licenses issued by state insurance departments
• Keen attention to detail
