Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of commercial lending or commercial banking experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, banking, or a related field required.
  • Formal banking school training is a plus.
  • Experience with loan structuring, credit analysis, and portfolio management.
  • Strong understanding of commercial loan and deposit products.
  • Knowledge of federal and state lending regulations and fair lending practices.
  • Ability to evaluate creditworthiness and manage risk grading with credit partners.
  • Strong business development, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy to grow commercial loan and deposit relationships within the assigned market.
  • Build consultative relationships with prospects and clients by identifying needs and delivering appropriate banking solutions.
  • Manage the flow of loan and deposit requests through internal channels to ensure strong responsiveness, sound structure, credit quality, and appropriate pricing.
  • Underwrite commercial loan requests within policy guidelines and prepare accurate, complete credit packages for review and approval.
  • Manage and service an assigned commercial portfolio, including ongoing monitoring and client support.
  • Partner closely with credit, treasury management, capital markets, wealth, and retail teams to deliver comprehensive relationship coverage.
  • Maintain complete loan and deposit documentation and resolve any operational or compliance exceptions.
  • Work with credit partners to assign and adjust risk grades as borrower conditions or market circumstances change.
  • Price loan and deposit products in accordance with bank guidelines and document exceptions where justified.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Resolve client issues promptly and provide a high level of service to strengthen retention and satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with centers of influence and community stakeholders to enhance market presence and reputation.
