Job summary

PlainsCapital Bank's Commercial Banking Intern program in Lubbock offers hands-on exposure to credit analysts and lending teams, plus client presentations and networking events. Internship dates are May 24th – July 30th, 2027, with observation of departments including Treasury Management, Premier Services, Private Banking, and Merchant Services.

Interns will gain experiential training through the Banker Development Program, and learn how various bank departments collaborate to serve customers

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in a four-year, accredited college or university with a Finance or Accounting major preferred.
Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
Excellent PC skills, including Word/Excel, and comfort with custom applications.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication abilities.
Demonstrated customer service and teamwork through prior work or activities.

Responsibilities

Observes day-to-day activities of Loan Officers and Credit Analysts with mentors.
Sees and practices spreading financial statements and underwriting loans of varying sizes.
Performs analysis and asks questions to support loan underwriting quality.
Participates in loan committee meetings to learn the approval process.
Observes loan package preparation and coordination with booking/funding.
Networks with lending leaders and product partners to understand services.
