Primary Accountabilities:

Team Focused Leadership

• Commercial Banking Assistant Manager I-II: Create a team environment where individuals can thrive. Communicate actively and effectively. Responsible for the quality and promptness of the unit’s output. Responsible for the development of all members. Lead the unit to work well with other areas of the Bank.
• Commercial Banking Assistant Manager II: Help Senior Manager in creating professional development plans for each staff member. Help Senior Manager in developing recruitment strategies to enable business strategy and meeting changing business priorities.

Financial Results and/or Efficiencies

• Commercial Banking Assistant Manager I-II: Lead the unit in reaching or exceeding its financial goals. Lead the unit’s portfolio growth. Constantly seek and create opportunities for the unit. Constantly seek and implement efficiencies for the unit.
• Commercial Banking Assistant Manager II: Make recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group. Advise on sales strategy based on a deep understanding of the market, relevant industry verticals, market competitors, client needs and business growth opportunities.

Relationship Banking

• Commercial Banking Assistant Manager I-II: Lead the unit in building trust with clients. Be attentive, anticipate, over-deliver, communicate frequently and satisfy requests promptly. Negotiate prudently with good judgment. Lead the unit to constantly seek opportunities to surprise and delight clients. Be the example and set high standards in managing client relationships.
• Commercial Banking Assistant Manager II: Train and coach business unit sales officers on key success methods of relationship banking and sales.
• Commercial Banking Assistant Manager I-II: Lead the unit to be aware of potential risks in the marketplace and industry. Lead the unit to educate and advise clients of potential risks. Lead the unit to understand and observe policies and procedures. Oversee the ticklers, exceptions and delinquencies. Lead the unit to identify loan re-grades promptly.

Personal/Professional Development

• Commercial Banking Assistant Manager I-II: Lead the unit to participate in Bank functions and training sessions. Lead the unit to participate in non-profits and other community endeavors.
• Commercial Banking Assistant Manager II: Serve on 1-2 non-profit boards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

• Commercial Banking Assistant Manager I-II: Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year university in Business Administration or related field required.

Experience:

• 6+ years of commercial lending and deposit gathering, or equivalent experience. Exemplary record of success in commercial lending as evidenced by strong business development results, coupled with good credit track record required.
• 3-5+ years of supervisory or management experience required.
• 7+ years of commercial lending and deposit gathering, or equivalent experience. Exemplary record of success in commercial lending as evidenced by strong business development results, coupled with good credit track record required.
• 4+ years of management experience required.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

• Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
• Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
• Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
• Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
• Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
