Job summary

Catalis, a leading government SaaS and integrated payments provider, seeks a Commercial Assessor for Wisconsin to inspect and value commercial properties and support fair assessments. This in-person role is based in Menomonee Falls, WI, and requires Wisconsin Assessor certifications or the ability to obtain them, with a background in real estate, finance, or related fields.

Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and evaluate commercial properties (office, retail, and multi-family).
• Analyze market trends, income/expense data, sales data, and costs.
• Determine accurate property valuations in accordance with Wisconsin laws.
• Maintain detailed property records and assessment documentation.
• Meet with property owners to explain assessment values.
• Prepare assessment reports and defend values during Board of Review or other appeals processes.
• Utilize GIS, assessment software, and other technology to collect and manage property data.
• Stay current on Wisconsin property tax laws, appraisal practices, and industry trends.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Assessor to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work with a wide variety of commercial properties while helping ensure fair and equitable property assessments throughout Wisconsin.

This is an in-person position based out of our Menomonee Falls, WI office.

What You Will Do

• Inspect and evaluate commercial properties, including office, retail, and multi-family properties


• Analyze market trends, income and expense information, sales data, and cost information


• Determine accurate property valuations in accordance with Wisconsin laws and assessment standards


• Maintain detailed property records and assessment documentation


• Meet with property owners to explain assessment values and answer questions


• Prepare assessment reports and defend values during Board of Review or other appeal processes

• Stay current on Wisconsin property tax laws, appraisal practices, and industry trends

Requirements

What you Will Need to Succeed

• Wisconsin Assessor 2 & 3 Certification (or ability to obtain certification)


• Experience in commercial appraisal, assessment, real estate, finance, or related field


• Knowledge of Wisconsin assessment laws and practices


• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and assessment software


• Valid Wisconsin driver's license


• Bachelor's or Associates degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, Geography, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered
