Job summary

First Bank & Trust in Abingdon, VA seeks a Commercial Appraisal Reviewer to perform in-depth appraisal reviews and coordinate with loan officers and appraisers daily.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information. Prior appraisal experience is not required but preferred; the role combines review duties with recommendations for approved appraisers and supporting real estate reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree in Accounting, Business and/or Finance preferred.
• Three or more years of banking or appraisal experience preferred.
• Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Working knowledge of how appraisals are prepared and the logic necessary to achieve a reasonable conclusion.

Responsibilities

• Assist credit administration department by conducting in-depth commercial appraisal reviews and prepares reports of findings.
• Provide approval of appraisers to do work for the Bank and maintains a list of approved appraisers.
• Confirm the approved appraisers license and E & O insurance are current.
• Recommend the bank’s services and products to the public.
• Assist the credit administration department with the preparation of selected real estate related reports.
