Job summary

United Road is seeking an experienced Commercial & Operations Analysis Manager in Plymouth, MI. You will build data-backed pricing for new business, track bid performance against economics, and provide senior leadership with real-time visibility into operations.

You will partner with Sales, Account Management, Operations, and Finance to win and grow profitable business, delivering models and dashboards that reflect lane economics, costs, fuel, and market conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• At least 5 years of FP&A, commercial finance, or operational finance experience.
• Experience building financial models to support business decisions (e.g., RFP pricing, margin analysis).
• Solid understanding of GAAP and P&L structure.
• Experience with data querying or SQL is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver regular leadership reporting on bid performance vs. original economics (revenue, cost per unit, margin, volume).
• Identify variances, diagnose causes, and recommend pricing or operational actions to close gaps.
• Assist with margin expansion through analysis of operational performance.
• Build pricing models reflecting lane economics, capacity, costs, fuel, and market conditions.
• Automate recurring reporting and improve data quality and turnaround time.

Reporting to the Director, Commercial & Operational Analysis, this position will build competitive, data-backed pricing for new business, track how awarded business performs against its bid economics, and give senior leadership clear, real-time visibility into operational health.
