Key Responsibilities
Project & Job-Cost Accounting

  • Review weekly cost transactions to ensure proper coding, compliance, and alignment with budgets.
  • Validate committed costs, open POs, subcontract agreements, and change orders.
  • Partner with Project Managers to resolve discrepancies and maintain cost‑to‑complete accuracy.
WIP, Revenue Recognition & Billing
  • Prepare monthly Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedules and over/under billing analyses.
  • Ensure accuracy in percentage-of-completion revenue and gross margin reporting.
  • Support monthly billing cycles, including AIA pay applications, progress billings, and retainage management.
Operational Support & Collaboration
  • Serve as a trusted financial partner to Project Managers and field leaders.
  • Attend project reviews and provide job-level reporting and insights.
  • Train and support operations teams on cost coding, billing processes, and documentation standards.
Month-End & Year-End Close
  • Lead job-cost, WIP, and billing components of the month-end close.
  • Reconcile AR, retainage, cost accruals, and unbilled revenue.
  • Support audit needs and maintain proper documentation and SOPs.
Qualifications

  • 4+ years of construction accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of WIP, percentage-of-completion revenue, AIA billing, and retainage.
  • Proficiency with construction accounting systems (CMiC preferred).
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to present financial information to leaders.
Key Attributes That Fit Our Culture
  • Positive, encouraging, and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • High level of accountability, reliability, and ownership.
  • Respectful, empathetic communication with all teams.
  • Adaptable, helpful, and willing to support teammates across departments.
  • Integrity-driven with a commitment to accuracy and consistency.
