Job summary

Strategic Security Corp. is seeking an Operations Center Watch Officer in Smithtown, NY to support local and nationwide client locations on a 24/7 schedule. The role focuses on monitoring alarms, CCTV, radios, and emergency calls to ensure rapid response and safety.

You will annotate activities, communicate with clients and security teams, and dispatch personnel. Full-time employment includes comprehensive medical and retirement benefits.

• Must be able to multi-task and use computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor intrusion and fire alarm systems at client locations.
• Observe CCTV systems for client sites.
• Monitor radio talk groups for local site and security/fire communications.
• Answer incoming emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Annotate site activity related to security, fire and facilities.
• Communicate with client and security forces to ensure site safety.
• Coordinate with SOC dispatchers and Account Manager on shifts.
• Perform status checks of posts/patrols and dispatch personnel as needed.

Job description

Strategic Security (SSC) is a nationwide leading provider of security guard services, executive protection, intelligence, consulting, investigative services. SSC Operations Center Watch Officer is responsible for: Dispatch / Scheduling / Analysts in our Operations Center for support for our local and nationwide client locations. The hours of operations are 24/7. The rate for this position is $21.00/hr.

As an Operations Center Watch Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring multiple intrusion and fire alarm systems for client locations.
• Monitor closed circuit television systems for client locations.
• Monitor multiple radio talk groups for local site to include security and fire talk groups.
• Answer incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for the local client location.
• Annotate all site activity as it pertains to security, fire and/or facilities.
• Communicating directly with the client and the security forces team to ensure site and business safety.
• Communicate and work closely with other SOC dispatchers and Account Manager on various shifts.
• Conduct status checks of all posts/patrols.
• Dispatch appropriate security personnel for calls for service.
• Maintain log books/blotters, handling guard force call outs, backfills or additional service requests.
• Monitoring guard force time, attendance and post watch. Monitoring of GPS tracking of company assets and performing other duties as needed.

Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications Required

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possess exceptional computer skills and the ability to multi-task
• Experience in the security industry and Operations Centers preferred

• Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and sitting. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
