Job description

Solidus Resources is a U.S.-based gold development company backed by Waterton Mining. The company is focused on advancing the Spring Valley Gold Project in Pershing County, Nevada, and specializes in taking high potential gold assets through late-stage development and into production. Solidus applies a technically rigorous, capital-disciplined approach to mine development, with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship, operational safety, and community engagement.

The Spring Valley Gold Project is located in the prolific Humboldt Range, an area with approximately 60 million ounces of gold endowment within a 50-mile radius. Envisioned as a long-life, low-cost open-pit, heap-leach operation, Spring Valley has a robust resource base and considerable exploration upside along a 7-mile strike length across the Black Ridge fault zone.

With a leadership team experienced in engineering, permitting, and large-scale project execution, Solidus Resources is advancing Spring Valley through feasibility, permitting, and construction, with a clear path toward operational readiness. The company’s goal is to responsibly unlock the value of U.S.-based gold assets while building a reputation for excellence in project delivery and sustainable development. This position is located on-site at our mine in Lovelock, NV.

Job Description

Reporting to the Control Room Supervisor, the Command Builder is the hands-on implementer of the mine model within CAT MineStar Command for Hauling, and provides support to the Command Controllers and pit technicians.

The Builder keeps the mine model up to date and maintains its integrity, so that the virtual road network in the system replicates the physical road network on the ground. The Builder prepares and manages dynamic mining areas so they are ready and available for autonomous operation, and troubleshoots assignment, onboard and communications issues as they come up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the mine model is up to date and proactively manage it for new and prospective mining areas.
  • Maintain the integrity of the mine model by ensuring the virtual road network replicates the physical road network.
  • Tune zones and assignments for tool (shovel) movements, dump shifts and weather.
  • Apply speed, traction and Narrow Area Planning logic as needed.
  • Manage onboard files and zone-based configuration updates.
  • Support the Command Controllers with troubleshooting and logic issues, and elevate issues that cannot be resolved.
  • Maximize equipment productivity and efficiency in accordance with the 24-hour mine and maintenance plan.
Job Requirements
  • Set the workplace health and safety culture within control operations.
  • Comply with and adhere to all company policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Report autonomy-related incidents as soon as practicable.
  • Participate in safety enquiries, safety meetings, workplace inspections and site safety programs as required.
  • Never release a model to the live system that is not reconciled to as-built survey.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or degree in mine engineering, robotics, surveying or autonomous systems is an asset.
  • 3 or more years in an open-pit mining or autonomous operations environment.
  • Experience with fleet-management systems such as CAT MineStar, Modular or similar.
  • Strong spatial and survey literacy, able to read design, as-built and GNSS control and reconcile them.
  • Action-oriented, with strong organizational and priority-setting skills; able to work under pressure.
Preferred / Competency Requirements
  • Previous exposure to autonomous mining systems (highly desirable).
  • Advanced computer literacy and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
