Job summary

ERS Wireless in Lexington, KY is seeking a Level 1 Communication Systems Technician to install, program and support voice, video security and data networks for diverse customers. You will install and troubleshoot systems on education, healthcare, manufacturing and public safety sites, working with a team and mentoring opportunities.

Ideal candidates have an associate or bachelor’s in electronics/IT, basic tooling skills, a clean driving record and the ability to obtain background clearance.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering technology, Electronics and Computer Technology, or IT.
• Certified Electronics Technician Certification (CET) from ETA – preferred not required.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use various types of hand and power tools.
• Ability to complete reports and documentation associated with job tasks.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must have a current, valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to obtain background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and maintain complex communication systems for education, healthcare, manufacturing, public safety, and other mission-critical customers.
• Troubleshoot communication systems to identify and resolve problems.
• Collaborate with the team, Service manager and customers.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and be mentored on new technologies.
• Interpret schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Work without direct supervision for extended periods of time.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.
• Complete necessary training and certifications.
