J&J WorldWide Services in Vandalia, OH is seeking a Floor Technician to keep all facility floor areas clean, safe, and well-maintained. You will clean carpets and hard surfaces and move furniture as needed to access floors.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, stripping, refinishing, vacuuming, monitoring supplies, maintaining floor machines, and using chemicals with PPE. Prior floor-care experience and ability to follow English instructions are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years experience cleaning floors or similar work experience.
• Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety and material-handling equipment.

• Reports any conditions requiring maintenance to supervisor.
• Performs warehouse recycling and monitors trash disposal.
• Operates forklifts, ride-on pallet jacks, and tuggers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

As a Floor Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all floor areas of the facility are kept clean, safe and well-maintained. Your duties will include cleaning and maintaining carpets, hard surface floors and any other floor areas.

General Summary

As a Floor Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all floor areas of the facility are kept clean, safe and well-maintained. Your duties will include cleaning and maintaining carpets, hard surface floors and any other floor areas.

Essential Duties

• Performs sweeping, mopping, stripping and refinishing of hard flooring surfaces following standard operating procedures.
• Vacuums and scrubs carpeted surfaces following standard operating procedure.
• Moves furniture and other objects as needed in order to complete floor care and returns all moved items to their original place upon completion.
• Monitors supply and requests additional cleaning solutions as needed.
• Ensures all floor machines are kept clean and in proper working condition.
• Handles various types of cleaning chemicals in compliance with established guidelines and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Reports any conditions requiring maintenance attention or repair to immediate supervisor.
• Performs warehouse recycling activities and monitors trash disposal
• Operates forklifts, ride-on pallet jacks, and tuggers
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Certification

• REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent
• REQUIRED: 2 years experience cleaning floors

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of all types of flooring surfaces, appropriate care, and proper use of chemicals and equipment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English.
• Working knowledge of warehouse safety and material-handling equipment.
• Previous experience using a ride on pallet jack and tugger
