Job summary

CBRE Government and Defense Services in Vandalia, OH is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain clean, safe floor areas of the facility. You will clean carpets, hard surfaces, strip and refinish floors, and operate floor care equipment in accordance with SOPs.

Responsibilities include moving furniture, monitoring supplies, ensuring machines and PPE are used properly, and reporting maintenance needs. A valid driver's license and 2 years of floor cleaning experience are required.

• 2 years of floor cleaning experience required.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, strips, and refinishes hard floors per SOPs.
• Vacuum carpets and clean floors per SOPs.
• Move furniture and restore items after floor work.
• Monitor supplies and request cleaning solutions as needed.
• Keep floor equipment clean and in good working condition.
• Use chemicals safely with PPE as required.
• Report maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Perform warehouse recycling and manage trash disposal.
• Operate forklifts, ride-on pallet jacks, and tugger.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

General Summary

As a Floor Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all floor areas of the facility are kept clean, safe and well-maintained. Your duties will include cleaning and maintaining carpets, hard surface floors and any other floor areas.

Essential Duties

• Performs sweeping, mopping, stripping and refinishing of hard flooring surfaces following standard operating procedures.
• Vacuums and scrubs carpeted surfaces following standard operating procedure.
• Moves furniture and other objects as needed in order to complete floor care and returns all moved items to their original place upon completion.
• Monitors supply and requests additional cleaning solutions as needed.
• Ensures all floor machines are kept clean and in proper working condition.
• Handles various types of cleaning chemicals in compliance with established guidelines and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Reports any conditions requiring maintenance attention or repair to immediate supervisor.
• Performs warehouse recycling activities and monitors trash disposal
• Operates forklifts, ride-on pallet jacks, and tuggers
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Certification

• REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent
• REQUIRED: 2 years' experience cleaning floors
• REQUIRED: Valid Driver's License

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge of all types of flooring surfaces, appropriate care, and proper use of chemicals and equipment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English.
• Working knowledge of warehouse safety and material-handling equipment.
• Previous experience using a ride on pallet jack and tugger
