An established industry player is seeking a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist II to lead the operations of their Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging departments. This opportunity is eligible for the recruitment incentive with return of service agreement. The Valleyview Health Centre is actively hiring a CLXT II. You will be responsible for the coordination, organization and operation of the site Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging departments. Valleyview is strategically located at important crossroads that lead to Peace River, Northwest Territories, British Columbia, the Yukon. June to August are generally warm and sunny months and daylight hours can last up to 17 hours at the peak of summer! Two provincial parks, Williamson and Young’s Point, are a major attraction to the region. The region is a sportsman’s paradise for those who enjoy cross country and downhill skiing and snowmobiling.
This role works a variety of shifts. This position may require frequent physical demands that include walking, standing, bending, lifting, hand movements and extensive use of computers that may cause eye strain.
As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist II, you will direct and supervise the day-to-day operation of department staff and services in their area. You will be responsible for the coordination, organization and operation of the site Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging departments. You will also be responsible to perform site specific manual and automated laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging exams, cardiology procedures and related duties following established standards and practice defined by the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT), College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and Health Professions Act.
Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. In addition to your strong attention to detail and good judgement, you are highly organized and have proven communication skills that enable you to work collaboratively within our fast-paced ever-changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:A minimum of three years’ of CLXT experience, preferably in a rural setting. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification preferred.
