CCI is seeking an experienced Combination Building Inspector to join our Denver metro team. You will perform on-site inspections to ensure construction projects comply with approved plans and applicable codes, covering building, mechanical, plumbing and structural aspects.

You will review plans for code compliance, communicate with professionals and the public, and maintain thorough records using CCI software. A valid CO license and ICC certifications are required or pursued within a year.

Qualifications

• Valid Colorado driver’s license.
• ICC certifications in Commercial Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical Inspections.
• Colorado licensed journeyman electrician or journeyman plumber preferred.

The Role

The position of Combination Building Inspector will suit an individual with strong expertise and knowledge in the construction field, ensuring our company's projects and initiatives are executed to the highest safety and efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections on-site to verify that construction projects are being built according to the approved plans and the applicable codes.
• Ensure that all construction work meets applicable building codes and regulations including building, mechanical, plumbing and structural aspects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with registered design professionals, contractors, and the public.
• Capable of reviewing construction plans for compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Provide feedback to customers on code issues and offer guidance on code interpretations.
• Ability to identify code violations, analyze construction issues, and provide solutions.
• Ability to address issues and resolve conflicts that may arise during construction.
• Document all inspection results and maintain records in a systematic manner using CCI’s software.
• Attend code classes to maintain ICC certifications either in person or electronically.
• Reports to the Chief Building Official. This is a non-supervisory position.

Job Expectations

This person would be available and responsive Monday through Friday during business hours (excluding personal vacation and holidays) to perform inspections as assigned by the Chief Building Official. Employees are expected to be self-motivated and follow through on tasks assigned with minimal supervision.

Expect occasional travel to construction projects outside of the Denver/Metro area.

License and Certificates:

• Possession of valid Colorado driver's license.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain within 1 year from the date of employment, ICC certifications in Commercial Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical Inspections.
• A Colorado licensed journeyman electrician, or journeyman plumber or higher is preferred.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
