Job summary

People, Technology & Processes, LLC seeks a Combatant Craft Mechanic CCM to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, propulsion systems, and related subsystems at JEB Little Creek Fort Story, VA. The role requires a SECRET clearance and a Class A license to operate the CCM prime mover with trailer and craft attachment.

The candidate will assist government personnel, manage maintenance scheduling and parts inventory, and perform in both shipyard and workshop settings while utilizing

Qualifications

• Blueprint and schematics reading.
• Basic understanding of SMAW, GTAW, GMAW welding processes.
• Basic knowledge of sheet metal fabrication.
• Basic understanding of fiberglass and hull repair.
• Working knowledge of military publications, instructions, and electrical diagrams related to repairs.
• Experience with diesel and gasoline engines, chassis, and lubrication systems.
• Previous military experience or understanding of US Navy rates is preferred.
• Must have experience maintaining and repairing diesel engines, gasoline engines, chassis, and lubrication systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostics, troubleshooting and repair for diesel engines, propulsion systems and subsystems.
• Assist Government with maintenance assessments and preventative maintenance recommendations.
• Maintain tires, batteries, brakes, valves, and manage maintenance scheduling and parts inventory.
• Diagnose equipment failures and repair ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic and steering systems.
• Maintain chassis and frames; use hoists, power tools, gauges and lubricants.
• Perform repairs in shipyard and workshop environments.
• Utilize specialty tools (torque wrenches, timing and fuel rack tools, gauges) for maintenance and repair.
• Coordinate with Government personnel on CCM safety and operating procedures.
