Job summary

Kinetic Concepts in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a full-time hourly technician to provide diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair support for diesel engines and propulsion systems on CCM equipment. This role requires an active SECRET clearance and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair support for diesel engines, MTU preferred, and propulsion system sub-assemblies.
• Advise the Government on CCM maintenance and repair technical recommendations.
• Diagnose faults, repair diesel/gas engines, and adjust ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and steering systems.
• Perform repairs in shipyard and workshop settings.
• Coordinate with Command on CCM safety, engineering, and operating procedures.

Position Type: Full-time, hourly

Period of Performance: Through 19 September 2029

Compensation: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Including, but not limited to:

• Provide diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair support for diesel engines (Motoren-und Turbinen-Union (MTU) preferred), reduction gears, auxiliaries, and propulsion systems, including sub-assemblies such as engine electronic and electrical systems, fuel systems, lubrication systems, starting systems, steering systems, electrical distribution, bilge dewatering, cooling, fire suppression, and hydraulic systems for the CCM, prime mover, trailer, and associated equipment.
• Assist and provide technical recommendations to the Government regarding CCM maintenance and repair, focused on technical assessments and recommendations to the Preventative Maintenance System of the craft.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures; repair and maintain diesel and gasoline engines; adjust and repair ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and steering systems.
• Perform repairs in both shipyard and workshop environments as required.
• Coordinate with the Troop or Maintenance Department Chain of Command on all matters concerning CCM safe engineering and operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Active SECRET security clearance.
• Blueprint and schematic reading.
• Working knowledge of military publications, technical instructions, and engineering and electrical illustrations relating to repair procedures and operations.

This position supports work performed under a prime contract held by a teaming partner. Placement is contingent upon customer acceptance and successful verification of the required security clearance.
