Job description

Combat Vehicle Mechanic (SCA)

At General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS), we prioritize our Customers in everything we do. We seek passionate individuals to join us in delivering innovative solutions for the SGT Stout program.

The selected candidate will be part of the GDLS team based at Fort Bragg, NC (formerly Fort Liberty), with travel opportunities to Ansbach, Germany; Fort Sill, Oklahoma; or Fort Cavazos, TX as needed for the SGT STOUT program.

Position Responsibilities:
  1. Perform maintenance on Stryker platform, Mission Equipment Package (MEP), and related equipment.
  2. Assist team members with technical issues as required.
  3. Conduct de-processing of Stryker's associated equipment and modifications in Poland under USG supervision.
  4. Perform quality checks on vehicles following de-processing check sheets and Joint Technical Inspection (TI) forms.
  5. Handle vehicle de-processing, including safety operations, PMCS, operation of crew stations, and organizational maintenance procedures.
  6. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  7. Assist USG personnel as directed.
  8. Promote a safe workplace environment by adhering to environmental health and safety standards and proper use of PPE.
Position Requirements:
  • Active Secret Security clearance.
  • CDL preferred.
  • 2 to 5 years of mechanic experience, preferably on tactical or combat vehicles (e.g., 91B, 91S, 63S, 63W, 63B, USMC MOS 2147, 3521, 3522, 3524). Experience with Stryker, LAV 2.5, or LAV III is desirable.
  • Commercial training or experience acceptable in lieu of military vehicle experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
  • Experience working in confined spaces within vehicles.
  • Ability to work in both field and maintenance facilities environments.
  • Independent work capability with minimal supervision and good organizational skills.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks across various work stations.
  • Good housekeeping skills and ability to promote these practices.
  • Willingness to work extended hours in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to gain and maintain access to military bases, including Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
  • Compliance with ASR guidelines for driver's station entry per Standard Practice 2-644.
  • Must maintain US Passport.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL; current CDL preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a company AMEX card.
  • Willingness to deploy as needed for fielding missions both within and outside the continental US.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be a U.S. person.
Additional Details:

Hourly Rate: $31.54

Incentive: Eligible for an annual bonus.
