Job description

We are currently seeking a Combat System Engineer at the Washington, DC Office. The Combat Systems Engineer will be 100% allocated toward support of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Germany F-127 Frigate Programs. Serving as a direct report to the Germany Combat Systems Engineer (CSE), this role primarily supports the U.S. Government Germany Team within PEO IWS 4.0 and will cover several aspects of acquisition and technical support of the Germany Computer Program and supporting hardware.

Functional Description

Within that team, the selected candidate will work with teammates to support the CSE, with work distribution coordinated across the Engineering team based on individual strengths. Typical taskings include supporting the Systems Engineering process by attending and aiding technical discussions about integration and testing, reviewing technical deliverables and documentation, coordinating Action Items and responses for Requests for Information, managing Risk Management coordination, performing Schedule analysis, and developing and maintaining Plans and Procedures.

The role requires strong organizational skills using Microsoft (MS) Office Suite tools for daily tasks such as arranging meetings, communicating within and outside the Germany team, and maintaining the Germany Team’s Data Library.

Travel will be required both within the CONUS and OCONUS, 3–4 times a year.

Job Description
Organization
  • Use full Cloud suite of tools (MS SharePoint, MS Teams) to maintain relevant data and maximize accessibility for the team.
  • Use Collaborative MS Teams OneNote Notebook for informal notes.
  • Gain access to SIPR and use networked Secure Sharedrive.
  • Meeting Minutes & Agenda development and tracking.
  • Combat Systems Engineering (CSE) Integrated Working Groups (IWGs).
  • Focus Meetings (FMs) / Program Management Reviews (PMRs).
  • Scheduling Meetings.
  • Coordinate and send out Ad Hoc meeting invites.
  • Find best time for key attendees using MS Outlook.
  • Assist client by reminding them of key meetings or approaching deadlines.
Contracts
  • Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) Delivery Reviews for CSE‑related items.
  • CDRL Tracking and follow‑up with review from other team functional areas such as SI & T, Logistics, Tech Rep, etc.
  • Draft Monthly Contract Officer Representative (COR) Reports for COR sign‑off.
  • Review invoices and flag any discrepancies to COR.
  • Proactively coordinate CPARS reviews with government personnel and set up IPAR syncs with industry on a quarterly basis.
  • Review or draft TI statements of work prior to COR review/signature.
  • Work with the Financial team to ensure funding is ready to be placed on contract when needed.
  • Systems Engineer responsibilities.
  • Learn the F‑127 schedule and understand relationships of milestones to their dependencies.
  • Learn, then understand System Security, ITAR, Releasability Guidelines.
  • Learn, then understand T&E needed to support IAFCL T&E schedule with Ship Testing schedule alignment.
Risk Management
  • Consolidate and ensure risks are up‑to‑date.
  • Provide input on risk writing and wording.
  • Schedule Monthly Risk Reviews at industry level for the Technical Director.
  • Action Item and Planner Tracking.
  • Update Action Item Power App tool with CSE status.
  • Track Planner tool tasking and deadlines.
Basic Expectation
  • Ability to independently work on tasks/efforts.
  • Grow to be able to step in for the Government CSE when needed to tag‑team tasking especially when one person is out.
  • Knowledge of Aegis/ICS Software and/or hardware design and capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid development methodologies and associated milestones/reviews.
  • Can explain the OODA Loop.
  • Requirements analysis and A‑Spec development.
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Knows/can explain the difference between TCP and UDP.
  • Integrated master Schedule (IMS) development (MS Project a plus).
  • Some knowledge of acquisition process and engineering process.
Required Education

Bachelor’s in engineering or STEM degree.

Required Experience

Seven (7) years’ work experience required.

This role requires in‑person support.

Must hold and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer‑related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract‑specific requirements. The salary range for this position is NTE $142,000.00 annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems’ total compensation package.
