Job summary

DC Army National Guard Combat Engineers design and build bridges, secure perimeters, and deploy tactical firing systems in diverse environments. You will assist Soldiers in constructing defenses, clearing routes, and learning essential construction and engineering skills on the job.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training and 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with paid on-the-job experience and tuition assistance available after entry.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard or equivalent service.
• Ability to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Citizenship eligibility per NATIONALGUARD.com.

Responsibilities

• Construct fighting positions, fixed/floating bridges, obstacles, and defensive positions.
• Place and detonate explosives as part of operations.
• Conduct route clearance of obstacles and rivers.
