Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Combat Engineer to design and build bridges, roads, perimeters, and firing systems while identifying and neutralizing hazards to the team. You will learn to tackle diverse construction projects and military engineering tasks.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training and 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with paid, structured learning and opportunities for tuition assistance and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 and 35 years old; high school diploma or GED.
• Enlistment in Army National Guard with citizenship requirements.
• Must pass a physical exam and meet standards.

Responsibilities

• Construct fighting positions, fixed/floating bridges, obstacles, and defensive positions.
• Place and detonate explosives as trained.
• Conduct route clearance and river obstacle operations.
