Job summary

Aspen Careers, LLC is partnering with a well-established national law firm to fill a Columbus, OH Business Associate role. The attorney will handle corporate and transactional matters, including sophisticated M&A, while also developing broader business counseling skills.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of corporate and transactional experience, can draft and negotiate contracts, and is licensed to practice in Ohio. A hybrid work policy and strong mentorship are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of corporate, transactional, M&A or closely related business law experience.
• Experience on mergers and acquisitions and corporate matters.
• Strong working knowledge of acquisition agreements and related transaction documents.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and corporate documents.
• Ability to manage meaningful portions of transactions with increasing independence.
• Strong legal writing, communication, organizational, and client-service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and sound professional judgment.
• Licensed to practice law in Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Work on a mix of mergers and acquisitions, corporate transactions, and ongoing business counseling matters.
• Advise clients on contracts, complex negotiations, transaction strategy, and other business needs.
• Draft, negotiate, and manage key parts of sophisticated transactions.
• Collaborate with experienced senior attorneys for mentorship and development.
