Job summary

Ameresco, Inc. is seeking an experienced Site Safety Manager for projects in the Columbus, Ohio area. You will plan, prepare, and implement safety programs to ensure safe production of quality work in accordance with contract specs, OSHA standards, and Ameresco Safety Management System.

The role requires leading safety audits, incident investigations, and coordinating with project teams to foster a positive safety culture. Travel may be required to support construction safety operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction safety.
• CHST or CSP certifications preferred.
• Current OSHA 10 or 30 Construction Safety Certification.
• Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Procore, and other basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site safety plans and activity hazard analyses for projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and standards.
• Ensure PPE meets OSHA requirements and workers are trained.
• Conduct safety audits to verify safe operations.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Review subcontractor safety qualifications and attend pre-construction meetings.
• Collaborate with supervision to create safety solutions.
• Maintain safety certifications as required by contracts.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings for project staff.
• Travel as needed to support construction safety operations.
